IE 7 problem?

When i save a web page, and open it offline(after disconnecting the net), the page is not opening. It is showing some error message and the saved page is not opening. There was no problem opening saved page using IE 6. Think this problem exists only in IE 7 .Need a solution for this.

Scrap IE7 and use Firefox.

IE 7 problem?windows media player internet explorer

Refer to your "GREEK" manual.
This problem will likely depend on the page you are saving. If it is a flat HTML file, there should be no problems saving the file in either browser.

If the site has certain elements which require live calls to the website's database (AJAX, javascript, etc), there may be problems unreleated to the browser you are using.
I had IE 7 it was always causing problems, I uninstalled it and returned to IE 6. Or use Firefox.

How do I downgrade from IE 7 ???

I had an older version of IE, which I loved. But I wanted to test IE7 with a site I am making so I downloaded the upgrade. I HATE it. I also use Foxfire, but I want to downgrade my IE to what it was before.

I have TRIED going to Add/Remove Programs on my computer. It wasn't listed there.

I also went to "Add/Remove Window Components" and IE was listed there at 0.0MB and when I tried to remove it and reboot, that didn't work.

I liked the older version and I'd really like to get back to it.

Basically it should be able to remove IE completely using Add Remove Programs in Control Panel. Hope this link could help you. http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=...

IE6 does not format CSS properly. To accomodate for IE6, use these tags in the head part of your document and change the CSS to make it work.

%26lt;!--[if IE 6]%26gt;

.insertCSStoFixHere {blah:true;}

%26lt;![endif]--%26gt;

This way, the browser reads these tags and if IE 6, it uses them instead of your normal CSS.

This hack works for all versions of IE, just change the version number to suit.

If you have a wireless keyboard, check your batteries.

If not, then try swapping out keyboards.

I've also heard that in some rare instances, Flash 9 is causing this problem in IE7 with Vista. Usually an uninstall of Flash and a reinstall fixes the issue.

why get so fussed with YOUNG ie not 50 teachers 6th form ie over 16 student relationships. Some get married

Why if clearly consentual and the younger girl is head strong not a pushover.

Not treat it like any other one with a few ground rules.

They have to come clean and she has to change class

So he does not mark anything of hers and so she cant after say he seduced her when it was not true if they split up, or he cant demand favours or she offer them for grades.

Ie you remove the power relationship.

Plus if in the open its easier to look for any signs of abuse if the kiss, cuddle and hold hands in breaks like anyone else.

AS SAID CONSENTUAL.

Heard many of these ended up with marriage and kids and happy ever after once everyone else butted out and left them alone. One case was at least 19 year of marriage and 3 kids.

I believe that the state has no place in interfering with heterosexual relationships between physically mature couples. Nature determines when boys and girls are sexually mature; this should determine the age of consent rather than a law that has its origin in the Victorian era.

Why get so fussed with YOUNG ie not 50 teachers 6th form ie over 16 student relationships. Some get married?microsoft works internet explorer

Right, got that. Obviously not English teachers then.
I'm lost. Are you trying to say that it is okay for a teacher and a young student to be intimate? No way am I going to click one of those links. I dont believe in stoning children or women or men for that matter to death. Especially not children who alot of times suffer for the adult.

Well all I am saying is that I do not believe in a grown man or woman being with a child. I dont see this as being in love with one another. I see it as criminal on the adults part. Sorry but its my opinion.

I dont understand adults who think of children in a sexual way or think they can have some sort of relationship with them that is intended for adults only. At least with doctor/nurse those individuals are adults. What does a 13 year old girl really know? How has she matured enough to understand an honest relationship? Are we pushing the children of the world to grow up too fast? I have a daughter who will be 13 soon and I do not want my daughter being looked at in a sexual way by some teacher. Teachers are supposed to be a figure of trust. If they betray that trust then who can children expect to turn to at school? Will they be leary of all adult figures? I would think so. If we allowed adults to be with 13 year old children then what? We already have sick people in this world raping and molesting mere babies.

All I know is that the laws were set and we should all try to follow them regarding children especially. Granted there are horrific cases of abuse all over the world and that issue also needs addressed and something done. Children are the innocents and need protection from people who want to hurt them. Now I am not saying that a 16 year old and an 18 year old being together is a abuse. But I am saying that I do not think a 20+ year old man has any business being with a 16 year old. If this supposed man really loved this girl could he not wait and give her time to grow? In most cases the adult realizes that its wrong. I feel like I am repeating myself here. I voiced my opinion.
u no maybe if u wernt an idiot u mite find an answer
The reason for these rules is for the protection of the students. Now I'm not saying that ALL 16+ y/o are at risk from being seduced by their teachers, but some are. You can't have one rule for some and one for others.

Teachers are in a position of trust, they are supposed to be responsible. By becoming romantically involved with a student they are abusing that trust.

If they have genuinely strong feelings for each other then they should wait until the student has completed their education.
START EDIT

My answer is below, if you care to read it. I had a closer at the list of answers you've previously given to other questions, as per your profile. I must say that I am disturbed by the high positive correlation between 14yo questioners and the sexual advice that you give. I can see the strong general theme of teenage sex that you respond to on here.

I have reported you under the category of Child Protection to yahoo, on suspicions of being a UK Teacher who is interested in persuing sexual relationships with your female students.

You know that you know better. And you know that your sexual intentions towards students are those of a fithy low-life pedophile. Seek help before you destroy the lives of children and your own career. They don't treat your kind well in prisons.

END EDIT

The big deal is because teachers are there to teach and not to date students. Of course they end up being the victim of crushes, such is the nature of high school, but dating a student compromises their authority and respect as a role model for students.

Additionally, teachers have already been through high school and college. They have dated seriously many more times than 16 year olds. Those 5 years after high school are the most rapidly forming for teenagers becoming adults. In terms of social and psychological maturrity, the age gap between a 16 year old and a 21 year old around 3 times greater than that between a 21 yr old and a 26yr old.

Despite being 'mature teenagers', they are still in school, still live with and depend on their parents, and are still considered as 'kids' to normal adults who have experienced the real world and the challenges that independence and growing up presents.

Teenagers understand this age difference. Which is why exceptionally smart 16 year olds don't teach high school with any success - an age gap is needed before students respect a teacher as being wiser than they are.

Students rely on teachers to be smarter than they are but also to know more about the realities of life. When a student dates a teacher, they are sending a message to other students that teenagers don't need to take their younger teachers so seriously in class. They think that they know as much as the teacher does, and when this happens the students are less likely to learn.

If the relationship is as strong as you describe, then the teacher should at least give the student enough respect to let them finish their studies and get out into the real world until they persue a romantic relationship together. Being lonely is a good excuse to stay friends, but certainly no excuse for abusing a high-trust relationship too fast and too soon.

If the teacher is properly qualified, they should have learnt all of this in college.

AVG Free anti-virus, and the updated version of Windows Defender is the best combo to combat viruses and spyware. Run those two applications and it should get rid of a good deal of it. The really good spyware is tough to clean off. If you are still having trouble with spyware after you run those, I would recommend a trustable computer technician. They would definitely be able to clean your PC for you. Good luck.

Reinstall Internet Explorer or get the new Internet Explorer 7. It's no longer in beta version and it is so mich better than IE6.

Dont use IE7

dont contribute the monopoly and the bad quality products

Download Firefox 2. Faster Browsing, more security, simply better.

I recommend Norton Antivirus. Also, you can't stop the http://iewarning.com/ from popping up until you remove the adware. Norton Antivirus has spam blocking, e--mail scanning, spyware, adware, virus, worm, and trojan horse blockng and removal. You should have a virus protection program at ALL times, and keep it updated regularly.

You can find your Content Advisor settings by going to Tools %26gt;%26gt; Internet Options %26gt;%26gt; Content.

If it is currently enabled, disable it and try browsing again.
check your start up group . under tabs .it may have went to original default .
I have an almost identical problem. I installed the same 8 UPDATES but one is KB 931836 instead of 931936.Also my updates showed 2 additonal ones that you did not mention. KB 928090 and 890830. I did a system restore back to Feb 5th and now all is ok . I am afraid to reinstall them. Did any of the suggestions posted here work ?

Thanks

IE or Mozilla Firefox?

I would like to know, which is the most people using now. I'm usually using IE but i wanted to know some comment

IE or Mozilla Firefox?windows media

i recommend you try Safari for windows its the fastest web browser there is. but i'm using Firefox right now b.coz my proxy server is blocking safari

IE or Mozilla Firefox?microsoft exchange internet explorer

Well, I prefer Internet Explorer 7!

The Mozila Firefox Browser have some bugs, and Internet Explorer correct it by Windows Update!
I use IE
I use firefox ..with fire fox you dont get pop ups or spyware..its a much more secure browser
just use mozilla firefox or opera. it's far faster and more safe than IE
I think IE is still more popular tan firefox.
Firefox 2
I say Fire Fox all the way I have both on my computer but when offered the choice i use fire fox 100%
Neither - use Opera
Mozilla for sure! Internet Explorer sucks! The new version is more shitier... it hangs most of the time! :-@ Even though IE is compatible with all the sites.. . it's security is not that great! Even though you actvate the pop-up blocker.. 100 pop-ups open! Go for mozilla... more faster.. lighter... and easy to use! With more added security!
I use FireFox as my primary browser. When searching for something in Google, that means that I am using a browser without ActiveX. So I am safer when I open strange websites that might blow up in my face.

When I go to known websites, I use Internet Explorer. You need it for windows updates and some other ActiveX functions.

Internet Explorer is slightly faster. This is probably because it is built-in to the heart of Windows. But use FireFox for safety.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

you'll get so many comments
I use Epiphany or Galeon. Iceweasel(Firefox's name on Debian) once in a few months or may be once in a year.

I'm looking for slicker browsers always. All the open source browsers use Mozilla's engines anyway.

Its been over five years since I used IE last.
firefox good
firefox- seems to make my internet connection faster. i live in new zealand and like 70% of people are still on dial up. its frustrating. firefox also has cool themes and you can change your browser buttons so you have like little cats everywhere. its great!!!
I use firefox because I can add more security and other features Its faster than IE and lighter on resoures too.
mozilla.. most of its add ons are free.. you can customize your browser by adding add ons..

i use fasterfox, cooliris previews, statusbar, and the most useful addon for me, the DownThemAll! add-on.. it can make your downloading faster..way faster than IE..security is best on firefox..

if you want to use IE and firefox at the same time, there are firefox themes that looks like internet explorer and vista..that is if you want to, i prefer firefox look, IE looks trash, they got buttons everywhere..its confusing..
ie
If you like customizing , grab firefox. compared to IE, you can download tools to optimize and customize your browser. It's a lot more fun that your average IE.

Hope you find a good browser :D
I have mozzila and LoVe it. My mom preffers IE though, don't know why. Like the layout better and it looks more modern. Easier to use.

Help! Upgrading to IE 7 casued big problems.?

I upgraded to IE 7 in order to get the enhanced security benefits. When I installed the new version, IE opens but then is unresponsive. I have to close out of it and use Mozilla to get on the net. Same thing happens when I open Windows Media Player--just stays unresponsive. When I uninstall IE7 and go back to the old version, everything works fine. I have installed/unistalled 5 times with restarts; no change. Can anyone help?

Help! Upgrading to IE 7 casued big problems.?microsoft updates

I'm not an expert but the author if this website is. She specifically mentions a couple of things that can affect a successful install. Like having to reboot twice after installing.

http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.htm...

And Microsoft has some words of wisdom as well:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926449/e...

When I first installed IE7 I had a boatload of problems starting with the actual installation. Instead of uninstalling and then reinstalling, I tried a repair install. (Similar to what I've done with XP.) Instead of removing the existing copy I just downloaded another copy on top of the first. And that solved my install problems. Then I found this article which basically says the same thing in the very last paragraph.

http://ask-leo.com/how_do_i_delete_and_r...

Some people swear by IE7 as being the greatest thing since sliced bread. I kept swearing AT it and eventually went back to IE6 because of all the other problems I was having. I wish you good luck.

Have you tried the manual removal from this site:

http://www.precisesecurity.com/blogs/200...

It just requires you to delete some related files.
The smitfraudfix is being advised by most forums now to remove IEDefender. Follow that up with Superantispyware to remove any infections that the smitfraudfix doesn't get and you'll be in good shape..

Smitfraudfix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.p...

Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/
IEDefender is an extremely dangerous rogue software created by programmers from Russia. It may be installed manually (from www.iedefender.com) or using security holes. Once the IEDefender is installed, it will start showing fake security messages that your system is in danger and will trick you into buying its full version. IEDefender may steal your secret information (passwords, credit card numbers, PayPal accounts). IEDefenders work may damage Windows registry and cause system slowdowns and crashes. It may be difficult to remove IEDefender manually because it loads on every Windows startup and has an ability to renew itself if you try to remove it.

--

here are manual removal instructions:
How to remove IE Defender (Removal Instructions)

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t...
IEDefender is a rogue anti-spyware application. IEDefender hijacks your web browser and redirects you to IE Defender鈥檚 homepage. IEDefender also pop-ups fake security alerts to deceive you! IEDefender uses all means necessary to mislead you and trick you into downloading the full version of the program to "solve" your spyware problems. You have to be careful and NOT trust IEDefender, even though it seems legitimate. My recommendations is that you remove IEDefender immediately before you become its next victim.
i just got this virus a couple days ago! i had a heck of time trying to find something to remove it. try SUPERAntiSpyware, it caught IE defender on my system and removed it for me and its free. i also tried the removal instructions from one of those forum websites but they were complicated and i didn't get the virus out. try superantispyware, it works and its really easy, you just wait for it to scan your system.

ad-ware works fine too. i used that too. ad-ware finds a lot of tracking cookies also that supersntispyware sometimes misses, but if IE defender is the only bothering you, superantispyware works really well.
You can try this free removal process: http://www.pchubs.com/blogs/ie-defender-...
IE Defender a rogue antispyware application that is starting to infect a lot of users. This particular infection is harder to remove. Also IE Defender installed in your Internet Explorer browser that hijacks searches you input into the Google and Yahoo search engines. When infected your Internet Explorer opens Google or Yahoo and make search request you will see a hijacked search result listing.

For remove IE Defender spyware, make follow the steps outlined in the topic linked below http://www.myantispyware.com/2007/11/10/...
This link details the solution that worked for me:

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?...

Link reads:

We've got infected by this IE Defender crap and I've read many Temporary Solutions or Total Removals, Just read here to see both solutions.

They are either listed as IR9V0_QCX.dll OR bDivX.dll

*Solution One

Go to Internet Explorer

Go to Manage Add Ons

Find bDivX.dll(In My Case IntelVideo - IR9V0_QCX.dll)

Disable It

OR (Still Solution One)

Go to Internet Explorer

Go to Internet Options %26gt;%26gt; Advance Tab

Reset Browser to disable ALL ADD-ONs

Solution Two

Find bDivX.dll(In my case IR9V0_QCX.dll) In the Windows 32 folder

Once found IR9V0_QCX.dll OR bDivX.dll %26gt;%26gt; Delete It

Now in Solution Two, the Spyware/Virus is now REMOVED and it did not damage anything BECAUSE the IE Defender Spyware is actually a Spyware Plug In for Internet Explorer

* = Only a Temporary Solution, will not TOTALLY remove the IE Defender Spyware from your computer

Hope this helps,

Should I remove IE 7 and use an older version an older Mozilla to speed up my slow internet?

Version 7 of IE uses way to much memory for my slow computer.

I want to know if it is unsafe to use an older version of IE or Mozilla. All I want is the tab feature, but IE7 is very slow for some reason.

Should I remove IE 7 and use an older version an older Mozilla to speed up my slow internet?windows xp professional

FireFox is SO much faster than IE anyways.

=)

Go with Mozilla.

Should I remove IE 7 and use an older version an older Mozilla to speed up my slow internet?windows xp home internet explorer

Absolutely. :) Using Internet Explorer at all is generally not a good idea anyway, for several reasons.
You cannot increase your sloww internet connection by simply degrading your softwares. You have to use advanced browsers for a quicker web access. The reason for your slower speed may be that since you installed it there is nothing in the cache memory. Use it for sometime and you will feel the difference.

Or try Firefox or Opera before uninstalling IE7.
I use Firefox as my default browser, but I did not remove IE7 (I don't think you can anyway).

Sometimes I find things online that FF can't handle, so I can still use IE7 in those cases.

I don't see a lot of difference in speed- must be something in your settings, or maybe memory is not enough?
If your running Windows Vista, you can't remove IE 7. But if your running XP or older...

Run some spyware scans, make sure nothing is bogging your computer down; also check "tools -%26gt; manage Add-ons". Too many plug-in's such as toolbars can slow your browser down. The reason your IE is slow, is most likely because of the built in "Phishing filter", make sure that's disabled. If you have Norton, they also install this phishing filter thing on your IE, disable those any other plug-ins that you don't use. The only time IE was slow for me was when I had a internet TV toolbar, after I disabled it, IE was smooth.

You don't have to read the rest, but it explains why I think IE is faster.

From my experience, IE is actually a bit faster than Firefox. If you do use Firefox, I think you'll find that it uses more memory than IE running the same content (check by using your Task Manager, accessed from ctrl+alt+del).

IE is a bit faster, particularly because of the pre-fetech feature. I'm not sure if Windows still does this, Windows has in the past used a feature called Pre-fetch to partially start certain programs such as IE and Media Player even before you manually chose to start them, so they'll start faster and etc, so that's why IE is a bit faster.

Now if you only want the tab feature, I believe our very own Yahoo has a toolbar or plug-in for IE 6 that adds the tab feature. So you might want to downgrade back to IE 6, and then get the Yahoo toolbar.
I don't have a problem with IE7.

Your problem may lie elsewhere. Maybe some housecleaning is in order:

1. Set wallpaper and screensavers to blank or none 鈥?they run continuously in the background and use memory.

2. Review your start menu 鈥?remove anything you don鈥檛 need on a daily basis 鈥?load games, etc. on an as-needed basis.

3. From Internet Explorer, sign out 鈥?then click Tools, Internet Options: delete cookies, delete files (offline), and clear history. (You can also set days to store history to 0.)

----- These actions will clear your computer鈥檚 cache. (For a description of cache, go to http://help.yahoo.com/l/ph/yahoo/mail/ac... )

4. Run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, Defrag at least every two weeks (the more frequently they are run, the less time they take).

5. Periodically, click Start, Programs, Run 鈥?they type ipconfig renew

(that鈥檚 ipconfig space renew).

6. This will show you how to optimize your PC鈥檚 performance.

These things should increase speed and free up memory as much as possible.

This is most likely due to Malware (computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, and other malicious and unwanted software). You will need to run full anti-virus/spyware scan and clean your registry. I recommend you use these programs (they are free).

1) AVG Free anti-virus

Update to IE 6?

Hi, I have an IE 5.5 right now and need to update to IE 6 and from that, to Service pack 1 for IE6. Any links to download IE6? THANKS!

Try microsoft windows update web site, let the site scan your pc, one of the security patches is for ie 6 (%26lt;3mb) and you choose that, since the patches can't be installed without ie6 there, it will actually install the ie6 (17mb) then the patches.

Why does my IE keep shutting down when I try to close a page?

When I go into my mail, or look @ a web site, and then try to close it out, my IE says there is an APPCRASH and the IE tries to "fix" it. It ends up shutting off my internet.

try reinstalling it,, or an uninstall then reinstall. or try to see if there is an update.. Also do a virus scan,, you might have a bug. www.trend.com use the free scan
you have a component that is broken. i would suggest going into options and then deleting all temporary files and objects.

IE doesn't connect, but Firefox can (yes, I have looked at some other questions)?

I can connect to the internet with Firefox, as you can see here, but I can't connect with either IE or Maxthon. Also, I can connect to AIM, Xfire, and online games, but I can't connect to Windows Live Messenger (which really sucks because I use WLM more.) My connection is DSL, but I'm not quite sure of the specifics -probably dial up.

Don't listen to Carling.

Do you have the latest IE? IE7?

IE7 is the latest version, and in my opinion the best. I find it does tabbed browsing and RSS feeds the best. And it is not 'buggy' as Carling said. I use it all the time, and I really don't face an issue. Unlike Firefox, where I always have tons of issues.

Or maybe you're taking up too much space on your hard drive, and it's slowing things down. You need to get rid of either Maxthon or Firefox. I think they're bogging the system down, to run better.

And I know how you feel about WLM. I use that all the time too. Just make sure you're really connected, and that all ports are open to work with.

Firefox or IE 7 ?

I am using IE7 on a Windows XP computer and having no problems at all.

I wish to download and run Firefox.

If I download and run Firefox will it wipe out my IE 7 or my "Favorites" or do any damage to IE 7 ?

If it's ok to use Firefox is there anything I need to know?

Firefox or IE 7 ?microsoft access

Since I switched to Linux I use Firefox, Konqueror, Seamonkey and Opera. Something you should understand: Firefox and Seamonkey are both in a real sense descendants of Netscape, which itself was available for Unix and Linux before it was available for Windows. Using them in a Unix-like environment makes perfect sense, but of course I find it sensible to use a Unix-like environment. The security advantage of Netscape-enabled browsers, frankly is precisely that they are not tightly integrated into the operating system: in Linux they operate in user space and in fact I've surfed the net comfortably using versions of both Firefox and Seamonkey which were installed in my /home directory and had no permission to write anywhere but to my personal account.

Frankly, the current version, Firefox 2 is a memory hog. This has something to do with that a lot of it is written in an interpreted language callled XUL. Firefox 3 reportedly runs much better over time (though it takes as much memory initially). It's supposed to be officially released in the next month. You might consider waiting or downloading the beta version.

That said, obviously you can run both IE 7 and Firefox, or should be able to. This is also true of Opera and any other browser availabe from a third party. You shouldn't do any damage to IE. There is no reason, should you try to run another browser, you shouldn't continue to use IE unless like so many of us you decide to give up Microsoft software. ;-)

Firefox or IE 7 ?windows mobile 6 internet explorer

You can have both programs, I prefer Firefox alot more..never had problems with it, but Explorer was a pain in the butt for awhile. You will have to save your favorites into your bookmarks in Firefox.
Firefox is the best in my opinion. It will not wipe out IE. It will ask you to import the bookmarks from IE actually.

Firefox is safer, and more secure. Plugins make it great!

Check it out..read the about, features, etc..then decide if it's right for you.
Avoid Firefox!

When you download Firefox, it comes complete with free membership in a cult religion. You will need to face the West and bow down and pray to your new god, Mozilla, at least 5 times a day.

Of course this "free" browser comes with a steep price. You will be encouraged to become an evangelist for the "cause" (see "answers" above^) by being pressured to join the "Spread Firefox" propaganda campaign:

http://www.spreadfirefox.com/

You will be required to constantly spam newsgroups and forums (Yahoo Answers included). To anyone that posts or asks any question about Internet Explorer, you will be required to reply that the only solution is to dump IE and use Firefox. You will annoy people with shouts of "Firefox has a built-in pop-up blocker...Firefox has a built-in pop-up blocker", despite the fact that Internet Explorer has had a pop-up-blocker ever since XP SP2...almost 4 years ago.

You see, the truth has never been important to Mozilla / Firefox. They have their own dangerous socialist / left-wing agenda.

You must understand that this religion, just like all the others, has its own devil, (Bill Gates), and its own Hell, (Redmond). From this day forward you shall devote your entire life to saving the world from Microsoft.

If, you become one of the chosen disciples of this cult, you will be allowed to help in the coding of new versions of Firefox. Of course you will not be paid for your efforts. Despite the fact that Mozilla Corporation had 2006 revenue of over over $70,000,000.00 USD:

http://www.calacanis.com/2006/03/06/fire...

It prefers to brainwash its followers into toiling for the Mozilla Mother-church for free. Slave labor is always best. Firefox / Mozilla Corporation loves to cry poor-mouth. And the lemmings always follow.

Of course the hierarchy of the church, such as High-Priestess and corporate president, Mitchell Baker, ARE well compensated for their work:

http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2007/01/money...

Funny how that works, isn't it?

I am surprised that Baker hasn't taken to wearing her own version of the Papal Hat:

http://juliuspaintings.co.uk/cgi-bin/pai...

Perhaps one made out of flea-infested fox pelts! It would certainly help to hide that hideous hair-do of hers;

http://www.siliconbeat.com/entries/peopl...

Firefox...the browser of choice of pimply-faced, male adolescent fanboys, who are badly in need of female companionship; and aging hippies with gray ponytails.

HA...;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
I think OPERA is nicest, but I use Opera AND Firefox, so that if I want to use the slightly less secure firefox with all of it's great add-ons, I click my 'drag n drop' Opera button labelled 'inFF'.

I did sometimes use inIE - but find now that IE isn't a patch on either Opera or Firefox. Firefox is best, but Opera is much nicer to use and more responsive.

Get firefox, then click 'tools, add-ons'

Then install the following to start you off with a much better net experience:

Adblock

Bandwidth diagnostics

Customise Google

Download Helper (for flash video)

Mouse Gestures

PDF Download

Session Manager

Speed Dial

Stop Autoplay (stops google video's autoplaying and sapping your bandwidth until you click them)

Stumble Upon - the single BEST ever add on

Unlike the man above me, I think the single reason for leaving IE7 behind is that it cannot offer these add-ons, and it is not free - Microsoft is very bad - and don't give you the choice of avoiding use of IE, however I find that many sites I cannot log into with IE7 are accessible with firefox and opera.

IE7 is too heavy to access my hotmail account most of the time, but FF opens it very easily and quickly. It's TRUTH that guides me, not an irrational need to defend Windows.

Now I use linux, and find Firefox to be identical on this platform, and it's the same on my friend's Macintosh.

What about IE7? search Google for comparisons
Firefox will not affect IE7, and for my money, IE7 is considerably faster than Firefox, and if you browse smartly, any security concerns are limited. Firefox is also a bit of a pain when it comes to constantly having to dowmlaod and update add-ons, though i will say there are LOTS of great add-ons to Firefox that you cant get with IE, so it is def worth having both on your computer.

And what that last guy said is priceless, though i wish i had the time he had available.
i use firefox, and i've had no probs. my comp is windows xp. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. i would be a little wary of downloading IE7, for the fear of messing stuff up. why do you want firefox if nothing is wrong?

IE doesn't show the page while Mozilla does?

I have been looking for an answer for a week to this problem. I have a web page (html) that is showing great with Mozilla but the page is blank with IE. I tried deleting the Cache like some people told me, and it didn't help. Anyone has any suggestions? I would appreicate any reply.

I cannot give the address of the website because it is internal page on the intranet.

Thank you

IE doesn't show the page while Mozilla does?windows 95

Lol I hope I'm right. It would make my day.

I'm guessing the web developer got ticked off with coding for IE, so wrote in a script making the page appear blank to anyone using IE. This isn't unheard of. Last month, there was a revolution on Digg.com. A bunch(in the thousands) of web developers refused to code for IE because it doesn't folow the web standards.

I support anyone against IE.

IE doesn't show the page while Mozilla does?download ie internet explorer

Well a simple test to see if it is a problem with your IE browser or something on the server side is to see if you can view it on another PCs IE browser (or have a coworker do it). If you experience the same results on multiple computers the problem is likely due to browser incompatibility on the server side. If other computers can view it with IE but yours can't, then you'll need to find the difference between your IE and others.

** Edit **

Oh, you can also try viewing the source of the page (even though blank) and see if maybe it is a sent to you but just not rendering properly.
The problem maybe the version of IE you are using. Some intranet pages were developed for use with IE 6, if you are using IE 7 then it may not show up. You should check you version of IE. Also check your web settings. Open IE go to tools-%26gt; programs there should be button for resetting the options -%26gt; then in the advanced tab you should see a similar button-%26gt; reset them both -%26gt; close IE and open it back up. If that still doesn't work I would reinstall whatever version of IE you have. Good luck
Most likely ur IE brower cannot show websites but in mozilla they can i hve the same problem i recommend doing a diagonistic or something like that on testing websitre viewing on both browers or updating your IE browser to 7 highest one yet
Hey there,

There is no problem with IE, howeverl you need to check if your internal site supports IEor not. In addition if you are using IE7 then its just the security features of IE7 that might not allow you to view the web-site, however; you can always add the internal site in your trustred web-site. As you might be aware and people in this community might have answered you that IE 7 uses "Extended Validation SSL Certificates" which might conflict with your site.

Hence, in order to resolve your problem, you need to first contact your IT dept and check if you can open the same site on any other computer in the same domain/workgroup.

I would like to see your issue resolved and you using IE in future.

Microsoft

Firefox and IE the only browsers left?? They Forgot one!!?

There was a report in yahoo that firefox was the only browser left battling Internet Explorer, They forgot to mention the regular mozilla browser, and more importantly OPERA!! All are far superior to Microsofts IE, and never get much use simply because Microsoft doesn't bundle their competitors software with windows (Duh), and the fact that microsofts Active X platform is taking over sites like this (active x = spyware that is legal by the way) and firefox and opera dont readily accept these without extensions or add-ons (Explorer required a lot of these too, but downloads them in the background so you dont notice), which ARE available easily, you just have to click the button a couple of times! Anyhow, the question is, WILL YOU PEOPLE PLEASE GIVE FIREFOX OR OPERA A GOOD CHANCE? Download one or the other, you will love them once you get used to them. Firefox is a little more like IE now that MS has stolen their design, but Opera is a piece of art (Very Beautiful) Try them, please!

Don't use IE, it would be a serious mistake to give MicroSoft total control of the Internet. I always use Mozilla Firefox! its better and safer from viruses too.

I love Opera too : D but I usually use FF seen as it flicks up on my screen in a second whereas Opera takes a little time.
I've been using Firefox for about 7mos now. Too many freeze ups with IE, so I gave Firefox a shot. Very happy with its performance.
i like firefox the best... simple but awesome UI. tried Opera but didn't like it very much.
these days even safari is turning out better than IE.. to be considered i fell.. and its cross platform too!
i love firefox!
I agree totally. I use a Mac so I use Camino as my browser, but on a PC, I would never use IE. It is a useless and dangerous tool. I trust Mozilla way more than IE. I also like Opera, but it's interface takes some getting used to. It is a matter of preference, and both Firefox and Opera are far superior to IE6 and even IE7. Opera is the most secure, you will need to get used to it though, it is different.
There are more web browsers out there than you can shake a stick at, most discussions involve the ones most commonly used. It's nice to see a plug for Opera, it is a good web browser also.

I used comcast and everything has been tested and fine(by using another computer). IP, DHCP, DNS server are all working. However, I could not connect either IE or firefox to Internet. I assume that you are running I.E and you want to download another version of I.E. In your case I.E 7. When you use your current version of I.E to download a file. You should know that I.E is designed to prevent AtciveX. In the sense it is designed to prevent programs installing on your computer without asking you. Imaging if some of this programs are viruses or spywares. You don't want them to be install on your computer automatically when you accidentally run into a web site.

Open: Download the program in cache or as temp file and open it when the file is fully downloaded. You should be confirm when opening a file. Click open if you would like run it else click cancel.

Save: Save this file or program some where on your hard disk. If you click the save button it will open a little window prompt you where you want your file to be save. If you choose to save the file you should also remember where you have saved this file. So you could find the path to this file and open it or on this talk, installing you I.E 7.

OK, there are several things you need to do:

1) turn off System Restore. You do this by going to Accessories..System Tools..System Restore. Turn this off--it's most often not needed and is a place where viruses hide.

2) go to www.grisoft.com and download their AVG anti-virus package. After installation, make sure you have it updated with the most current definitions.

3) I assume you're running Windows XP. Turn off your computer and re-start it in safe mode (which you do by repeatedly pressing either F5 or F8 just after you turn the power back on--you'll get a menu asking you how you want to start up). Once you've booted into safe mode, run the AVG software. This is a *very* aggressive software package and can remove just about anything.

4) Reboot your computer normally. If you're still having problems, continue with the following:

5) Go to

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/progr...

and download HiJackThis. Run the program, which will create a log file. Go to

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/

and post your HiJackThis log. You will get an extremely rapid, very precise answer as to whether or not you still have any infections and, if so, exactly what to do.

6) After everything is all cleaned up I recommend installing SpyBot (it's free; just make sure to keep it updated):

http://www.safer-networking.org/

and SpywareTerminator (also free):

http://www.spywareterminator.com/

Good luck!
I guess there is no single fully loaded security program that will take care of all current security problems all by itself.

You may need a combination of them or choose the best one to secure your computer.

Install the free AVG anti virus from www.grisoft.com

Or, the free Avira Antivir PE Classic from www.free-av.com

Or, Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition

Or, Free Anti-Virus Protection - Active Virus Shield

Or, do a free online virus scan and clean on www.antivirus.com

The above will take care of your virus problems. Additionally, you may want to install the latest Yahoo toolbar with anti spy button that clean spy which steals your information. Get it from http://downloads.yahoo.com/
Perform System Restore, if it happened a week ago or earlier

Click on System Tools

Can't find Temp IE directory on XP with SP2?

For some unknown reason I can't find/access the temporary IE directory file on my XP system.

6. This will show you how to optimize your PC鈥檚 performance.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using...

These things should increase speed and free up memory as much as possible.

Firefox and IE not showing images in My Yahoo. Strange address associated with images. Spyware?

When viewing My Yahoo, some of the pics don't show up in IE or Firefox, just the red x.

Load images automatically is enabled in Firefox.

Show pictures is checked in IE

When I right click on one of the images and click on show image, it shows the address as:

http://kagemusha.corp.yahoo.com/images/f...

I have reformatted my c drive, wiped it clean and reinstalled Windows. I have run Norton, Symantec, Hijack This, Ad Aware, Windows Defender, and AVG. None of them found anything exciting. I also tried plugging my cable modem directly to the computer rather than through the router.

With the kagemusha address showing up, it seems like a virus/spyware but why only on Yahoo?

I'm up for any ideas. Not a whole lot more damage I can do since I just reformatted.

Perhaps one made out of flea-infested fox pelts! It would certainly help to hide that hideous hair-do of hers;

http://www.siliconbeat.com/entries/peopl...

Why am I able to use firefox but I can't use IE? I do not want firefox! Help! 10 points?

I installed firefox and made it my default browser because everyone said it was better than IE. But I just don't like firefox. I like IE better. Before I installed firefox IE was working fine and I was able to use IE with no problems. But after I installed firefox I noticed that IE was no longer working right. Like whenever I open just 1 page on IE like 53 pages will automatically open, and I can't go to any websites on IE because I just get a message that says "application not found" whenever I try. All I can do is click links on the home page (yahoo) and go to the subsequent sites (like yahoo answers, where I am now). I uninstalled firefox, did a virus scan (which detedted no viruses), and attempted to do several system restores, but each time I got a message saying that the system settings could not be resored. So what do I do to fix IE? Please someone help me! 10 points.

You need serious help.
IE %26gt; Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Programs tab %26gt; click "Reset web settings" %26gt; Yes %26gt; check "IE should check to see whether it is the default browser".
Do you know what version of firefox it is? B/c version 3 just came out, and it's still in Beta Testing, so it probably still has a lot of bugs. If nothing you can think of works, you might want to go to Microsoft's website and download the full version of IE7. But before you install it, uninstall the Microsoft IE that's on your comp. Then download the SETUP for firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/) DO NOT install it. leave it alone for now. after you have downloaded the IE7 Setup files, uninstall firefox BUT DO NOT DELETE THE SETUP FOR FIREFOX!!!! by now, you should have no web browser. now, try to install IE7. if it works, you're good to go. If not, you still have the firefox set up. install fire fox, and try to find another way to do your browsing (i.e. try netscape or some other free web browser) if all else fails, email microsoft, maybe they can help you.
System restore Hardly resolves such a problem.IE is a LEGEND In Quality Performance/offers advance security enhahancements and provides detailed security related threats..etc. to microsoft something far from Firefox.Internet Explorer deserves Default position and there are GOOD reasons to support that.Currently your IE and Out look express are NOT configured..Check this out at windows Help and Support Center through the Start Menu%26gt;then Click Network Diagnostics to view current status. Try these steps to solve the problem. Go to Internet Options then reset your websetings to their IE original Values before you connect your computer to the internet then launch IE after set up.If this did not turn out as expected, then you should download and install another IE .During installation IE installation wizard will set up and correct all errors.Ensure correct drive installatin and avoid corrupting files. That should solve your problem.............Good luck.

Ie toolbar back to original state?

I have too much stuff on my ie toolbar!!! I just want my normal ie toolbar back. How do this??

Ie toolbar back to original state?windows firewall

Right click on your toolbar, unlock it, then untick what you don't want. Afterwatfd go to Customize and add / remove any other icons as you prefer then relock the toolbar and close all browser windows. When you reopen a new browser window, the changes that you had made should be reflected.

Firefox or IE, which is better?

Is Firefox better than IE?? I still have IE 5 I think, maybe 5.5 I think I tried 6 and things quit on me. I still use Win98 SE too. I know I had one week where I had to format like three times. Finally I have just kept it as simple as possible. I really would like to do away with anything from MS.

Firefox or IE, which is better?ie

Personal preference is Firefox, however, IE is needed for getting any updates and other help from Microsoft as it does not allow any other browser to access.

There are some applications that have been written that will ONLY work with IE also, like certain pogo games, etc...

Bottom line... use them both.

Firefox or IE, which is better?microsoft internet explorer

well first i would get at least windows xp.. but i would say firefox better. i use both on daily bases. use both because some websites do not like fire fox so then open ie and work right away but that only few websites that i have been to.
Then switch to Firefox, much better.
Firefox is much safer, because of the frequency and robustness of its updates, it helps block spam, junk, adware popups and all the rest of the dross much better.

For my money it's 100% improvement over IE, which has pretty much caved in to the people that want to send you junk you don't want.
firefox, IE is very buggy, although opera is rather cool aswell, and on os x i love camino and epiphany on linux
I use IE at work and Firefox at home and definitely notice a difference. Firefox has never quit on me and just has better features and easier to use.

However, if you want to adjust any settings like not allowing certain websites or controlled access to the web you have to go with IE. You can do this somehow with Firefox but its complicated
windows 98 is kinda old operating system is there anyway you could upgrade, like to windows XP, then you could get IE-7. but to answer your question most of my friends have switch to firefox, I keep for myself IE been using it longer than dirt was discovered, ask www.pcworld.com, they have many answers to many questions in there and they have a cool web-page. Ya have a good week.
Firefox is better. IE is the devil.

Why do IE browser always experiences script errors?

i have a win XP pc, and it works fine, except for the IE, be it version 7 or 6 always saying that it experiences script error, error on page and to continue or not to continue. how could i avoid getting that? also, is there any way to uninstall IE thoroughly and use firefox instead? thanks. . .

Why do IE browser always experiences script errors?windows update

script errors are actually results of "outdated browser" but since you already have ie 6/7 and still experience the same script error...you actually need to update your java program in the pc (www.java.com)...

btw, have you tried uninstalling the ie and reinstalling it using the original windows cd? that also can help...

ie experiences this error more than firefox since there are settings in ie that actually require very updated java program in order for it to open info especially pics...

take care alain...??? :D

Don't UN-install Internet Explorer!!....You will need this!!... long story..You can still download Firefox which would most proberly fix those script errors and use both together without any conflict.
